The Art That Started It All
As a mother, there are certain moments you carry in your heart long before they ever arrive. Creating the artwork for my daughter’s wedding was one of those moments for me. I wanted to give her something deeply personal, something that reflected not only the beauty of the setting, but the love, intention, and joy surrounding the day.
The Botanical Blooms print was born from that desire. Each flower was painted entirely by hand, inspired by the actual blooms found throughout Norfolk Botanical Garden. I studied the shapes, colors, and movement of the garden itself, translating them into a design that felt both romantic and timeless, a reflection of the place where she would have a wonderful reception.
That artwork became a thread woven throughout the celebration. It appeared on the save-the-dates (picture on the back), suite invitations, bar signage, welcome signs, menus, table cards, and other thoughtful paper details. Seeing the print layered into the tablescape, surrounded by fresh florals and gathered family, was one of the most meaningful honors of my life.
What began as a gift for my daughter has now grown into something I am so excited to share. The Botanical Blooms Print design is being released as part of a new collection, now available on, stationery, pillows, notebooks and table runners bringing a touch of that wedding weekend into everyday living.

The artists and vendors behind our botanical garden celebration
Some weddings feel like a gathering. Others feel like a story unfolding and my daughter’s wedding weekend was very much the latter. Set within the lush beauty of the Norfolk Botanical Garden, the celebration was layered with color, flowers, artful details, and the kind of thoughtful touches that only happen when many creative hearts come together.
As both a mother and an artist, this wedding was especially meaningful to me. I created a custom floral artwork for the celebration, what is now the Botanical Blooms print, with each flower painted by hand and inspired by the real blooms found throughout the garden. Seeing that artwork woven into the tablescape and paper details, surrounded by living flowers, beautiful textures, and thoughtfully chosen elements, was a moment I’ll always treasure.
But no wedding like this happens alone. It takes talented, generous creatives who care deeply about their craft and about the people they’re serving. This blog post is my way of saying thank you and of shining a light on the incredible vendors who helped bring this celebration to life. Virginia Floral Design and Events
Virginia Floral Design and Events is a luxury wedding floral studio known for creating refined, garden-inspired designs that transform meaningful moments into immersive experiences. Based in Virginia, the brand blends organic textures, elevated color palettes, and intentional artistry to craft celebrations that feel timeless yet deeply personal. From intimate ceremonies to large-scale tented receptions, every design is thoughtfully curated to reflect each couple’s vision while delivering an atmosphere of effortless elegance.
The reception took place at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, where lush, garden-style florals were woven throughout the reception to complement the natural surroundings. The reception featured dramatic hanging floral installations, cascading arrangements that flowed across guest tables and draped off the bar, and a heavily flowered tent entrance that created an unforgettable first impression. To honor the couple’s heritage, personalized four-leaf clover pins were thoughtfully created, infusing a meaningful nod to their nationality. Every detail was layered with movement, symbolism, and texture, allowing guests to step into a romantic, fully immersive floral experience that felt both luxurious and organically inspired by the landscape.

It was my absolute pleasure to bake and decorate the wedding cake for Caleigh and Liam’s beautiful celebration on September 6, 2025. There is something timeless and elegant about vintage-style piping, and applying those intricate, ornate details to their two-tier cake felt like creating a piece of edible art. The delicate piping in our smooth Swiss meringue buttercream gave the wedding cake a sophisticated, nostalgic charm that I think suited the couple’s style perfectly. Beyond the aesthetics, their flavors were a classic choice. Each tier featured our made-from-scratch white almond cake layered with our rich cream cheese filling, all wrapped in our signature recipe Swiss meringue buttercream frosting.
For a modern touch, the couple chose to forgo the classic bride & groom figurine cake topper and instead opted for a unique finishing touch: the hand-piped inscription "Mr. & Mrs. Murphy" in a metallic gold cursive on top of the cake. Seeing that gold script pop against the ivory buttercream really brought the whole vision together, and I felt honored to play a small part in making their first day of marriage so sweet.

Make Up by Sara
Make Up by Sara - Sara's career in the beauty industry began in 2013 when she started working at the front desk of Tracy's salon in Wise, VA. During her time at Tracy's, she completed a Cosmetology apprenticeship and became Salon Manager.
In 2015 she began freelancing part time in addition to working retail in Macy's cosmetic department, working at counters such as Estee Lauder, Lancome, bareMinerals, and more.
In 2016 Sara began a position as an Ulta prestige beauty advisor, which included color matching, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations. After 10 months in this position Sara was promoted to M.A.C Specialty Artist at Ulta Beauty, providing makeup applications and makeup lessons.
In February of 2018 Sara, took her passion for makeup artistry and her love for people and created her own company MakeupbySAC, LLC

Gramercy Atelier was Founded in 2010 by Maria Pucci and Robert Pucciariello, Gramercy Atelier is a New York based couture house specializing in bespoke, handmade garments for mothers of the bride and groom. Operating out of their Manhattan studio, the team emphasizes a deeply personal, collaborative process, creating custom tailored designs that reflect each client's individual story and style, rather than relying on off the rack options. The atelier is known for its meticulous attention to detail, using high quality fabrics including Italian brocades and, at times, hand painted materials designed by Maria to produce elegant jackets, dresses, and ensembles. Serving clients across the United States, Gramercy Atelier offers a 3 to 4 month, end-to-end design experience, which can be conducted in person in NYC or through a seamless virtual process.
