Dress it up or dress it down. These fun designs are inspired by the beautiful English Transfer Ware of the blue and white plates in the book "WHISKEY in a TEACUP" written by Reese Whitherspoon.
Transferware was developed in Staffordshire, England around 1760, the technique consists of transferring a print from an engraved and inked copper plate to a sheet of paper. The paper is then applied to the unfired clay, the print is transferred and the clay is glazed and fired. Transfer Ware permitted potteries to produce far more than if they were hand painting everything.
